This concentrated active serum uses moisture intensifying ingredients, including low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, to bring a maximum amount of moisture to the surface of the skin. The form of vitamin C we use in this formula is an ascorbic acid polypeptide. We feel this is superior to other forms of vitamin C traditionally used in anti-aging products in a number of ways, not the least of which is it does not have the acidic "bite" associated with traditional vitamin C serums that can cause redness and irritation to the skin. That is fantastic news for aging skins that are also sensitive, compromised, or Rosacea prone. This product can penetrate into the deeper epidermal layers of the skin to address the root cause of skin discoloration – the cellular production of melanin. Upon application, it penetrates to the melanocytes, which produce the protective pigment known as melanin. Melanin is reduced to a colorless substance, inhibiting the formation of freckles and "age spots." Beta-glucan protects the skin's moisture barrier, stimulates collagen production, and promotes cell turnover.

Purslane is rich in glutathione and glutathione reductase and has demonstrated an ability to improve vitamin C stability.
